Transportation Sales
Position Description: This is an entry-level position within our Transportation Sales Team. In this position, you will provide KTI's logistics services to businesses with diverse transportation needs. You will be in daily contact with customers of various sizes, building relationships, problem solving and assessing their needs. You will solicit new business from shippers, as well as source equipment from more than 18,000 contracted carriers to accommodate each client's needs via truck, rail, ocean liner and air cargo. The role is three-dimensional; it involves buying, selling and customer service.

Outside Sales Position-MIDWEST
Position Description: The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for selling KTI's logistics services to customers with diverse transportation needs. In this role, you will be responsible for growing the business primarily through generating sales leads, soliciting new accounts through face to face meetings and presentations, increasing the services provided on current accounts, and selling KTI's services (including OTR, Intermodal, and International). You will be in daily contact with customers of various sizes, building relationships, problem solving and assessing their needs.
Accountabilities:
• Solicit new business through outside selling in the Midwest market
• Contact potential customers primarily in person to persuade them to use KTI's services
• Arrange sales calls with potential and current customers
• Explain the details of all KTI's services including: truckload, less than truckload, intermodal, and international to potential customers
• Provide rate quotes to customers for services
• Recommend changes to current customers regarding their transportation needs
• Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of 1 to 4 years of transportation/logistics sales experience
• Prior success with customer and/or carrier growth
• Strong sales and relationship building skills
• Ability to effectively influence others
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strategic and creative thinking skills
• Travel required throughout the Midwest region
